February 13, 2010 Training Event: Lean Enterprise Technology Overview On February 13 ASQ Austin conducted a workshop demonstrating how to apply lean tools to improve manufacturing processes. Adil Dalal was the instructor. This seminar is part 2 of the 3-part FY 2009/2010 scheduled educational events. Attendants participated in exercises to show how manufacturing processes are impacted went lean methods are not used and how they are improved after lean methods are applied. Mr. Dalal provided several examples of how well some companies are operated when they apply lean methods. A video clip of the training session can be found here
February 10, 2010 Regular Meeting: The Effective Transition from Design to Production An informative presentation was given by Dr. David Ciambrone who spoke about what you need to do and not do in order to have a solid bridge between initial concept to final product release. http://www.davidciambrone.com/ Mr. Ciambrone presented some interesting tools that he used to assess vendors including an assessment form: Vendor Assessment Form

9, 2009 This year's Holiday dinner meeting was at Marie Callender's. ASQ members and guests attended to this great event. A fire place, a Christmas tree, wonderful food, and the door prices made this dinner a great event to share with friends and piers. Thank you to all the ones that made this another successful event. Evangeline Loh, Vice President, Regulatory Affairs at Emergo Group, a consulting firm with international offices, delivered the presentation “Quality and Regulatory Environment in Medical Device Industry” This presentation introduced the attendants to the regulations affecting medical devices in different countries.
